5 essential oils to help you face the winter

Do you know how to take preventive measures and treat viruses, bacteria and microbes that you encounter during winter in a healthy way?

We would like to share with you five oils and one recipe that will help young and old alike get through these cold months as naturally as possible.

1. RAVINSARA essential oil, the essential booster

Immune-boosting and antibacterial, this essential oil is widely used during winter, both preventatively and curatively.

Its areas of action: combating ENT and pulmonary disorders (rhinitis, rhinopharyngitis, productive coughs) and helping to protect against all forms of viral infection (herpes, flu, bronchitis, respiratory conditions, hepatitis).

Consume by:

  • Oral route, diluted
  • Diluted inhalation
  • Diluted topical application

2. L’huile essentielle de CITRON, la plus utilisée à la maison.

When diffused (a few drops combined with Ravintsara) or used in household products, it purifies the air and eliminates germs, as it is both antibacterial and antiviral. In other words, it’s perfect!
Its added bonus? Its sweet, light fragrance. Please note: when used on the skin, avoid exposure to sunlight for 6 hours after application.

Consume by:

  • In household products
  • Diluted inhalation
  • Diluted topical application
  • Oral route, diluted

3. THYME VULGARIS WITH THUJANOL essential oil, for the whole body

We are all familiar with the traditional infusion of thyme, honey and lemon juice as a natural remedy for sore throats. Thujanol thyme goes even further!

Known for its antiviral, antibacterial and immunostimulant properties. It is used in particular for ENT conditions (sinusitis, tonsillitis, tracheitis and laryngitis of the upper respiratory tract, as well as bronchitis), to strengthen cellular defences and for multiple infections of the body at all levels (urinary tract infections: cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, etc. and gynaecological infections: vaginal herpes, papillomavirus, vaginitis, bartholinitis, etc.).

This essential oil is also suitable for treating numerous skin conditions: cold sores, shingles, chickenpox, acne, abscesses, infected wounds, boils, etc.

It is suitable for the entire family, with the exception of pregnant women and babies under 3 months of age.

4. Tea tree essential oil and its friends: fighting sore throats.

Tea tree essential oil has many benefits. Antiviral and immune-boosting, it helps strengthen the body’s natural defences, among other things. It is recommended as a complement to your doctor’s prescriptions during episodes of infection, particularly for sore throats.

Here is a small recipe for pure essential oil (approximately 0.5 ml) from the book, “Aromatherapy” (Amyris Publishing), written by Dominique Baudoux, Doctor of Pharmacy:

  • Mandravasarotra essential oil (Cinnamosma fragrans): 1 drop
  • Thujanol thyme essential oil: 2 drops
  • Tea tree essential oil: 2 drops
  • Lemon mint essential oil (Mentha citrata): 1 drop

5. EUCALYPTUS RADIE essential oil

Immune-boosting, antibacterial and antiviral, it is beneficial for the respiratory tract. When diffused into the air and diluted, it can be inhaled by pregnant women over 3 months and babies.

TIPS! Diffuse it for 15 minutes before going to bed at night to enjoy its many benefits throughout the night.
