12 tips for an ergonomic workplace at home!

Wooh’s tips

“Anyone who can do it is asked to work from home”.

  • Écoutez votre corps: arrêtez ce que vous faites ou changez de position lorsque vous ressentez de la douleur ou de la tension
  • Our musculoskeletal system is designed to move: sit, stand and move regularly!
  • Set a timer and take regular active breaks.
  • If possible, try to alternate between sitting and standing while working (for example, on your kitchen island).
  • A good chair is important! If you regularly work from home, it is definitely worth investing in a good adjustable office chair.
  • Take frequent breaks when working with your computer to rest your eyes.
  • Adjust the screen brightness to the natural daylight
  • The incidence of light at home is often different from that in the office: ideally, light should fall from the side to avoid glare, reflections and shadows.
  • Organise your workplace around a source of natural light: windows provide much-needed daylight!
  • Take a break outside: go for a short walk during the day to boost your energy levels.
  • Do you work from home and is the rest of your family there too? Then try to separate your workspace from social areas.
  • Try to stay socially connected: email, phone calls, Skype, FaceTime. It is important to stay in touch with your colleagues, friends, and family!
